To start your free 30-day trial of Dante Via, just download the software and follow the instructions to start the trial. Please note that you can only activate a 30-day trial of Dante Via once per computer. 

Please note that Dante Via occasionally needs to access the Internet to validate the license. If your computer is not continually connected to the Internet, you may be prompted to connect it from time to time to keep the license active.

IMPORTANT NOTICE - Dante Via Fatal Error on some Dell machines

It has recently come to our attention that running Dante Via on some Dell model machines may cause a fatal system error. Due to this issue,  Audinate is not supporting Dante Via on Dell platforms and suggest to not install Dante Via on any Dell machines at this time.

If you are currently experiencing this issue please boot the machine in safe mode where you should be able to uninstall the Dante Via application.

Installing Dante Via

Note: You will be required to restart your computer after installation, before you use a new version of Dante Via.

  1. Ensure you are logged on to your computer as an administrator.
  2. Ensure that Dante Virtual Soundcard is not running.
  3. Navigate to and double-click the downloaded Dante Via installer file.
  4. Read the license agreement. If you agree to the terms, select the 'I agree' checkbox and click Install.
  5. If you do not agree to the terms, click Close.
  6. Confirm / acknowledge any Windows security prompts that are displayed.
  7. When Dante Via has finished installing, restart your computer. This is an important step - Dante Via may not function correctly if you do not restart your computer after installation.

In order to complete the Dante Via installation process, you will be required to reboot your computer. It is advised that you do not install Dante Via until you are in a position to reboot your computer immediately after installation.

Bug Fixes: 
  • VIA-2635: The Skype icon is not displayed in Via.
  • VIA-2632: PC monitor line out audio stops when the monitor enters power save mode / sleep.
  • VIA-2633: Windows Settings appear as a Local Application in Audio Destinations.
Known Issues: 
  • VIA-2354: Duplicate application names can cause duplicate channels on the Dante network.
  • VIA-2641: Subscriptions between Dante Via devices may not automatically recover after rebooting DDM. Workaround: Resubscribe the affected channels.
  • VIA-2642: Enrolled Via starts up unenrolled if restarted with DDM offline. Workaround: Stop and restart Dante Via.
  • VIA-2639: When enrolled in a domain, Dante Via might not display the correct domain manager hostname if it has changed.
  • VIA-2612: When two (or more) network interfaces are available on the computer, Dante Via may still appear on the network that is not currently selected.
  • VIA-2592: Muting a local application that is currently hidden in the Dante Via UI may not work.
  • VIA-2582: Application icons in a multi-channel device are sometimes not displayed correctly if subscribed from Dante Controller.
  • VIA-2647: On Windows, network interface names that include non-ASCII characters (for example, multi-byte Chinese, Korean or Japanese characters) and network interface names that include spaces can cause routing failures in Dante Via, with the message "transmitter setup failed". Workaround: Rename network interfaces on all PCs in the signal chain so that they include only ASCII characters and no spaces. Then reboot the PCs and re-establish the audio routes in Dante Via.

 

Audinate’s Support for Inclusive Language

To our customers: some of the terminology used in Dante products has been changed to align with modern usage. Specifically, areas related to Dante clocking now refer to “Primary Leader Clock”, “Leader Clocks” and “Follower Clocks” to describe the functions of each role more clearly.
