DirectOut - EXBOX.MD

The concept of EXBOX.MD is straight and simple: take any MADI format (coaxial BNC, optical SC or SFP) and convert all 64 channels to Dante and vice-versa.

At the same time the compact device offers a unique feature set including EARS (Enhanced Automatic Redandancy Switching), channel based routing, an internal 4-port network switch, Dante’s redundancy mode, different options for control and a bunch of clock sources. The device can be powered by up to two external power-supplies as well as PoE (Power over Ethernet).

Using the innovative EARS technology, EXBOX.MD operates as automatic switching engine for critical multichannel audio environments. EARS is a system to prevent interruption of the output signal. It uses either the proven BLDS technology or pilot tone triggering. A logic monitors the condition of the trigger signal on the Dante input. In case of a failure it switches automatically to the backup input (Dante or MADI).

As one of the most flexible Dante bridges presently on the market, EXBOX.MD offeres a variety of clock sources like PTP, MADI (via SFP, SC or BNC MADI port), WCK (via switchable MADI BNC port) and internal.

EXBOX.MD can be controled via a webbrowser GUI and the independent control software globcon

The handy size of the popular EXBOX series (1/3 of 19’’), combined with the rock-solid housing and redundant power supplies, makes the EXBOX.MD a perfect connectivity tool for touring live shows, OB vans as well as studio applications.
